Kelly Carstens

 

Kelly CarstensKelly is the school counselor at Independence Elementary School in Lakota. She has worked in the education and counseling fields for over 14 years. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling in 1996.

 

Kelly is also the proud “mommy” of Kennedy (13) and Carter (6). She and her wonderful husband, Scott, are actively involved in all of their children’s activities. They are especially proud to support the Acting Up organization. Kelly has been serving on the Acting Up Board as Secretary and working on the production teams for Footloose the Musical, Annie Jr., High School Musical and Mulan Jr.

 

You will see Kelly working very closely with her “partner in crime”, Christine Smith. They are affectionately referred to as “Lucy” and “Ethel”. Together they work as the Parent Laisons of Acting Up. They strive to help parents in every way they can. They work to build positive relationships and fun memories for the children and families who become a part of the Acting Up family!

 

In her spare time Kelly enjoys all of the volunteer opportunities in her children's schools, their church, and numerous other outside activities. You may even catch Kelly out running through Mason and training for an upcoming marathon. She is very proud to be a part of this wonderful organization!
