I want to learn an accent / dialect? What's a good resource?
There are some limited resources out there...some not very good, presumably others are good. However, we are personally aware of some very good success with the Acting With an Accent series of CD's from Dialect Accent Specialists, Inc.
Do you rent or do you build your sets?
We have built all our set pieces for The Wizard of Oz, Honk! Jr., and Grease. We consider our organization extremely fortunate to have the volunteer efforts of very gifted set designers, set painters, and builders.
Do you offer acting classes or summer programs?
We do not offer any acting classes or summer programs at this time. However, there are a number of fine programs in the surrounding community. For example, the Lebanon Theatre Company has an excellent "Beginners" and "Returners" camp every year.
Can I suggest a show for Acting Up to do in the future?
Absolutely! We are always interested in suggestions. Would you prefer more musicals or non-musicals? Is there a specific show you would like to see? Of course, a lot of factors go into deciding what show we will ultimately produce. However, the more requests we get for a particular production, the more likely you will see us bring it to life. May parents attend rehearsals?
An emphatic YES! Parents are not only welcomed, but are encouraged to attend rehearsals. Your kids and our production team work hard and have a great time -- we want the actors' parents to share in the experience! All we ask is that the parent be quiet and respectful of the rehearsal process. This is a time when the parents "should be seen, but not heard." Please, no toddlers or babies (unless they are fast asleep!), as they are too much of a distraction to the actors and the director. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
Where can I get directions to the Auditions / Callbacks / Rehearsal location?
We recommend using Google Maps or www.MapQuest.com, to get customized directions by entering your starting location and the address provided on the website for the subject activity as your ending location.
