Important Message to All Who Auditioned
Thank you for auditioning! You should all be proud that you were able to stand in front of a group of strangers and perform. It is not an easy thing to do, but you all did it! We would love to cast all of you. Unfortunately, every show has a size limit, and we had to cut some talented actors.
For those of you who are not on the list, keep trying! If you love theater, don't give up – don't be discouraged. Keep working and keep trying, and you will be in another show. If you were not cast, we hope to see you in the audience and at auditions for our next musical! We're going to have a ton of fun rehearsing and performing this show. You'll have a great time, make new friends, and you'll allow others who may be directing future shows to get to know you and see what you can do. Whether you realize it or not, every show is an "audition" for future shows. |

What If I Didn't Get a Role?
As mentioned above, although an individual may be very talented, they may not be right for a role in a particular production. In some cases, while you may have been right or a role, your scheduling conflicts were too insurmountable in view of the rehearsal schedule or other actors' conflicts.
If you did not get cast, please do not be discouraged. We expect to have audition information on our next production shortly after the close of the current production. Please continue to check this website for updates on future productions.

General Audition Info
The following is general information for a "typical" Acting Up audition. However, certain productions may differ in some respects from the below general information - so be sure to double check the requirements posted at the link to Sign-Up Genius associated with the audition.
Who Can Audition?
Depending upon what the production storyline calls for, we typically look to cast actors/singers/dancers ages 10-18 years old. You do not need to live in Mason, Ohio, to audition.
What Do I Need to Bring to the Audition?
- Audition Form. A completed audition form found on the Acting Up Cast Management System Database.
- Resume. If your previous experience doesn't fit on the audition form, please also provide a resume (click for an example resume). Do not be discouraged if you don't have that much experience. In the past, we have cast all ranges of prior experience in principal roles as well as ensemble.
What Should I Wear to Auditions?
Wear something comfortable that you can dance in.

Where Can I Get More Information on Auditions?
May I Audition Via Video?
Video auditions are not ideal, and will likely put you at a disadvantage versus auditioning in person and interacting with the other auditioners and the casting board. However, we understand that sometimes your schedule may not provide any other option. Consequently, video audition submissions may be accepted with the following pre-requisites:
- You will be out of town or have some other extenuating circumstance preventing you from attending in person for all open audition dates.
- You have obtained prior permission from the Producer and Director to audition via video.
- Your video submission must be received by noon on the last day of open auditions and include links to song, monologue, and dance videos.
- Your Audition Form with conflicts (from the database) and a headshot must also be emailed or received via USPS by the last day of open auditions.
