Karly Danos
Kerri moved to New York City in 1996 as a playwright for the off, off Broadway company La MaMa. She used her teaching degree from Miami University to offset living expenses by teaching Theater and English classes in New York City Public Schools. Kerri moved on from La MaMa in 1999 and began pursuing her Master's Degree in educational leadership. After returning to Ohio in 2006 with her husband, Frank, she began teaching at the University of Cincinnati while earning her Doctoral degree. Kerri became a Full-time professor teaching in a teacher education program in 2009.
Kerri, her husband, and four children, Maggie, Colton, Tristan, and Sebastian, reside in Landen and enjoy the theater together. Their daughter, Maggie, watched Acting Up's 2019 production of Matilda and said she wanted to be on stage. Since then, the McKenna kids have been participating with Acting Up's shows, theater camps, and FUNraisers. Kerri became involved with Acting Up's production team after sticking around for show rehearsals and offering to assist in any possible way, as she is well aware of the required efforts of producing a successful show. More importantly, Kerri is enjoying her time behind the scenes with her children while making an impact in a community which appreciates the theater as much as she does! |
